Tess Community Café
Tess provides the café service within the Grantham Senior Citizens Club, Welham Street Grantham. We deliver a quality service that is a catalyst to showcase the achievements of people with a learning disability. We provide excellent food using produce from our own allotments run by our Garden Project.
The Community Café benefits those individuals who are looking to develop and learn new skills. Through work experience in this supportive environment, we aim to:
- Develop employability skills in a customer service environment.
- Provide ongoing work experience and training opportunities.
- Develop through gaining qualifications for example; Basic Food Hygiene and First Aid.
- Support for people who have the aspiration to move into paid employment.
- Develop confidence by interacting with many people from different backgrounds.
- Make friends and develop great relationships with the wider public.
The Community Café is open to the public, helping bring together members of the local community, in particular those who are at risk of isolation or disadvantaged and vulnerable within society.
